Saturday Game Night Recap

One game was put on at the club this Saturday night. Walt Williams ran his WFG 2.0 "Almost Written" game with a scenario set during the Winter War of 1938 between the Soviet Union and Finland. Seven players took part in the game where the scenario had a Finnish ski-infantry force attacking a Soviet support area behind the Soviet lines. The objective of the game was for the Finnish team to attack and destroy a Soviet mess facility that is being guarded by a small infantry force supported by two light tanks.

The game started well for the Soviets as they were able to quickly suppress one Finnish unit with a MMG and uncrew a Finnish anti-tank gun on the first turn of the game. The Soviet advantage slowly disappeared as the Finnish ski troops were able to converge on their objective from three sides while slowly reducing the Soviet defenders with accurate small arms fire. By the end of the evening the Finns were able to destroy their objective along will taking out one Soviet tank and killing a majority of the Soviet defenders.

Walt's game is routinely played here at the club and has a big following amongst CSGA members.
