The Men Who Would Be Kings made another appearance at the club. The game's scenario pitted the British against forces of the Mahdi, plus a few German Marines. In the game British agents had learned that the Germans were selling weapons and ammunition to the Mahdi's forces at a remote desert site. The local British commander decided to send a detachment of troops to stop the sale and capture the arms and ammunition. Unfortunately for the British a force of Mahdi warriors arrived at the same time and the fight was on. Six players took part in the game that lasted three hours. It was close-fought game with the native forces having the upper hand during the first half of game, but eventually fortunes turned in favor of the British as they were able to beat back the natives and claim victory. This was the third playing of The Men Who Would Be Kings and with each game the play has gone smoother resulting in more action at a faster pace. It appears this game will be played a long time here at the CSGA.
