Saturday Night Game Recap - Board games only

After last weekend's Summer Game Day and DBx Smackdown, this Saturday night only saw a couple of board games being played at the club. Larry Neal brought in War: Age of Imperialism and Peter Hope's children put on Settlers of Cataan for anyone who wanted to play. War: Age of Imperialism is a simple Risk like game of conquest for up to six players and Larry wanted to try out some new combat rules he felt would make the game better for people playing as colonials. Settlers of Cataan, one of the most success games of all time, is a trading and building game set in the mythical world of Catan. Players roll dice to determine what resources are generated each round and then must strategically trade those resources with other players to get what they need to build their settlements, cities, and roads. Both games were a nice change of pace from the historical miniatures games usually played at the club.
