Saturday Night Game Recap - Return of miniature gaming

After one weekend of only board games being played at the club things returned to a more normal state as two miniatures games were the headliners at the club. Put on were a club favorite and a brand new sci-fi miniatures game never before played at the club. Walt Williams put on WFG 2.0 Almost Written for six players and saw set during the Winter War of 1939 between Finland and Soviet Union. The scenario had Finnish ski troops attacking a Russian convoy stopped along a remote forest road somewhere in Finnish hinterland.

In stark contrast Eric Widiger put on a game called "Westworld or Slaughterhouse 5" using a western game rules called Gutshot. The scenario was based on the movie, and HBO TV series, Westworld where resort guests had to fight off the robot characters that have gone berserk and have started killing the guests. Being a new game, the first few turns tender to go slow as both Eric and the players learned the mechanics of the game. Also played Saturday night was one sci-fi board game or people who didn't want to participate in the two main games.
