The first game night of September saw two games being put on at our club. Walt Williams put on a small WFG 2.0 Almost Written game for six players and Robert Scholtz put on a The Men Who Would Be Kings scenario with room for four players. Walt's game was set early in World War II and had each side trying to capture a small factory complex. The game gave Walt a chance to use his newly acquired buildings from Crescent Root Studio. Their buildings are very detailed and really enhance a gaming table!
Robert's game scenario was set in 1882 and had elements of Sir Worseley's British Expeditionary force attempting to seize an Egyptian gun emplacement prior to the Battle of Tel-el-Kebir. The game was a good chance to test out what attacker-to-defender unit ratio should be used to make a balanced game when one side is defending behind entrenchments. The game was quite bloody with the British attackers being thoroughly mauled by the Egyptian defenders.
