Only one game was put on at the club Saturday night at the club. Robert Scholtz and Jay Casper put on a game of Bolt Action, which was open to anyone who wanted to watch and learn how the game is played. The game was set in 1944 and had German Fallschirmjagers battling American paratroopers for control a ruined French village after the D-Day landings. The scenario played was Scenario 12: Sectors from the Bolt Action main rulebook. Each force was place in opposite diagonal quarters of the of the battle map. The goal of the game was for each side to seize as many quarters of the game map as possible while inflicting casualties on the enemy.
The game began with each side deploying their main forces and then over the first two turns they brought in their reinforcements. The two forces were quite similar in organization with each side fielding one tank and one armored car along with their infantry units. After an even game through the first have of the battle, the game eventually went in favor of the Germans as both American attempts to call in air support resulted in the Allied aircraft attacking the Americans instead of their intended German targets. This resulted in the Americans suffering several casualties which prevented them from slowing the German advance.
