Saturday's game night saw two games being played at the club. Peter Hope put a game of Blood and Plunder and Command & Colors Napoleonics was put on by Lamont Anderson and Ed Strecker. Blood and plunder is game set during the golden age of pirates in the late-1500s into the mid-1600s. Players command this units from several factions including the Spanish, French, and English to sailed the rich central American coast and the Caribbean. This evenings scenario was a land battle between some English pirates encountering a group of Spanish pirates in the jungle of central America. The game was an opportunity for Peter to show the game to a couple of club members who had expressed interest in the game.
Command & Colors Napoleonics has been put on a couple of times now at the club and each time it has been played more people have shown interest in it. Adding something new this time, each side had two players commanding the respective forces, allowing for a multi-player game. The night's scenario was the Battle of Reichenbach that was fought in May 1813 between the French and Russia. The objective of the game was for a Russian rear guard to prevent the advancing French forces from reaching a nearby bridge and cut off a retreating Russian army. Below are pictures of the game.
