Two miniatures games and one board game were played at the club this weekend. The big game of the evening was WFG, which was put on by Walt Williams. The game was set in North Africa during World War II and pitted troops from the British 8th Army against a unit of the German Africa Corps. The gaming table was a lot smaller than normal, which allowed the players to get into the battle a lot faster. Walt's games tend to be bloody affairs and with the smaller table this was even more apparent. The scenario was a raid on a small remote out post and included was a mix of infantry and tanks on both sides. The attackers entry points were randomly determined when new units entered the table. This added a little "fog of war" as neither the attacker nor the defender knew where units would appear. Below are photos of the battle.
In addition to WFG, Tom Monaghan and Cal Pearson ran another test-game of Wolsung. Like last weekend, Tom and Cal were testing out rules to see how the game plays and to see how easy it would be to increase the number of players from two to four. Below are a few pictures of the game.
Along with the gaming, Dan Brewer brought more miniatures and terrain for club members to buy.
