Two games were put on at the club Saturday night. CSGA member Ed Strecker put on a test play of some rules he's been developing for playing tank combat set during World War II and CSGA Secretary Robert Scholtz put on a game of Star Wars: X-Wing. The scenario for Ed's game pitted a Soviet IS-2 Heavy Tank Regiment versus German Kampfgruppe Bake, a heavy Panzer Regiment made up of Tiger and Panther tanks. As this was play-test of Ed's rules he decided to keep the number of tanks involved in the game small. The 1:144 scale miniatures were used for the play-test, but other scales of miniatures could easily be used. For his game, Ed has combined rules from several rules sets and this game was to see how well the different rules worked together. Three players helped Ed test out his rules.
Robert's X-Wing scenario had the rebels trying to destroy an Imperial listening post hidden in a asteroid belt within rebel held space. The listening post was protected by six sentry satellites and a flight of tie fighters that the rebels had to defeat before engaging the listening post. Five players took part with three players being the rebels and two players flying the Imperial ships. The scenario was played twice with the players swapping sides for the second game.
