After the success of Walt's game last weekend, Walt decided to put on another game of WFG 2.0 Almost Written this weekend. Also played was the cooperative board game Spirit Island, which was brought in by CSGA club member Bernie Santucci. Walt's game was a replay of last weekend's scenario as a number of people who couldn't play last weekend wanted to try out the scenario. Spirit Island is a new cooperative-player game put out by Fabled Nexus. The game was a Kickstarter game that came about due to the support of people in the general gaming community who thought the concept behind the game was intriguing. Some have called the game Catan in reverse. Instead of trying to build a civilization on a undiscovered island, in Spirit Island players play different island spirits trying to defend the island from "invading" settlers trying to colonize it. The game is designed for two to four players, with everyone trying to work together to scare off the colonists trying to inhabit the island. Four people played the game Saturday night and it was well received by all who played. Hopefully it will make numerous appearances here at the club.
