Two historical miniatures games were played at the club. Walt Williams put on his WFG 2.0 skirmish game and Ed Strecker put a game of Command and Colors: Ancients. Each game had approximately six players and each game ran throughout the evening. Walt's game was set on the Eastern Front during World War II and pitted a Soviet force against one of Germany's minor allies. As of late Walt has been using smaller game boards, which has allowed players to into the battle a lot faster. Not having to maneuver into attack range has really sped up play and lets players enjoy battling against each other sooner during the game.
For Ed's game he had a couple of different scenarios to choose from based on the number of players taking part. The game at least two players who had never played Command and Colors: Ancients and it was good of Ed to help mentor the new players on how the game was played. Ed's combining of miniatures with the C&C board game rules has been well received at the club and chances are quite good all three of the C&C games that have been played at the club with be played more often in the future.
