Only a single game was played at the club this past Saturday night. CSGA Vice President Cal Pearson put a game of Fleet Commander Genesis for three players. The game was a test-run of the game rules for a game Cal is putting on at the club's Fall Game Day next weekend. The game was to test the rules to ensure smooth play when the game is next played. The night's scenario had the three players each controlling a small force of spaceships trying to escape a star going nova. Each player's goal was to find a way to exit the game table with as many ships as possible while preventing their opponents from doing likewise. Included along the way were a number of mystery points with objects that could potentially help players leave the board faster or slow down other players. The game lasted several turns as each player tried to do their best leaving the game table with loss to their fleets. In the end, one player was able to exit their fleet before the nova occurred, destroying the remaining ships on the table.
