Eric Widiger put on a Civil War scenario at the club this Saturday night using his Johnny Red 2.5 ruleset. With Christmas a few weeks away Eric's scenario had a holiday theme with both sides attempting to capture candy (supplies) scattered across the battlefield. Five players took part in the game with three playing the Confederates and two playing the Union forces. The objective of the game was for each side to capture as many stockpiles of candy as possible before the end of the game. Each side had adequate forces to accomplish the task assigned them while also being able to attack and repel the opposition. In addition to fighting the enemy, each side had to face the sinister threat of evil snow spirits guarding some of the candy. Troops entering a lost camp had to fight off a pair of giant snowmen guarding the candy. The fearsome snowmen were the toughest entities on the battlefield and successfully drove away two Confederate units that attempted to capture the candy the snowmen were guarding. Overall the game was a close fought affair with both sides capturing plenty of candy for everyone to enjoy! Thank you Eric for a fun Christmas holiday themed game.
Below are a few pictures of the game.
