To kick-off 2019 Luis Nunez put on anther Lion Rampant game using his scratch-built Norman fort. Again the Saxons attempted to capture the Norman fort ruling over them, but this time the Saxons had help. In addition to the Saxon rebels, this time they brought along their Scottish allies to attack the fort. The upcoming battle was best described by game participant Cal Pearson who penned the following call to arms to fight the dastardly Normans:
" Oi - The Saxon Nobles have heard the wailing of the widows and orphans of the last battle of this plaque fort near our villages. We've heard their pleas for vengeance, their cries for Norman offal to spill as their kin's flowed onto the cold ground. But our fight is much more than a claim of retribution - more than simple eye for eye sniping.
We welcome our low land and even highlander brothers to enjoin the righteous struggle that ends only when the last Norman drains out hanging impaled on a Saxon spear... "
The game, originally set to be a day battle, turned into a night attack when our gaming location temporarily suffered a power outage that just added to the ambiance of game.
