The rest of May was a wide variety of games being played at the club. The games ranged from 16th century to the present and into the realm of science fiction. After the "May the 4th be with you" weekend of gaming, Star Wars themed games made another appearance the following weekend along with 1930s gangster game put on by Dave Brewer and British colonial game set during the Zulu War put on by Robert Scholtz. Peter Hope put on Star Wars Legion while Dave put on a game of Mad Dogs with Guns and Robert ran a The Men Who Would Be Kings scenario.
On the 18th of May Brian Cummings put on a game of Blood and Plunder and Ed Strecker put on Command and Colors: Napoleonics. Brian's game had one side attempting to infiltrate as far possible into their opponents side of the game board. The saw a lot of maneuver as both sides use a lot of cover to protect their men as they advanced. The game was close affair with the attackers just advancing far enough to have the end in a draw. Ed's scenario for the evening was the Battle of Poletsk that occurred in October of 1812 during the French invasion of Russia.
The last Saturday night of the month saw Dave Brewer putting on another gangsters game using the ruleset Mad Dogs with Guns. Dave's games are know for including a lot extravagant terrain and this game was no different as Dave created a 1920s city-scape for players to charge their gangs around as they played. Well done Dave!
