June 2019 began with Larry Neal putting a game of Distinguished Flying Cross (DFC) on the first Saturday of the month. DFC is an aerial combat miniatures game that can be adapted to fight aerial battles from the beginning of air combat during World War I up to the Korean and Vietnam war eras. The night's game was set in 1969 and depicted an aerial battle fought during the "Soccer Wars" between El Salvador and Honduras. Both sides in the war flew World War II era US aircraft acquired by both sides before the war. The types of planes that took part in the fighting included P-51 Mustangs and F4U Corsairs. The Soccer Wars is noted for being the last conflict in which piston-engine fighters fought each other.
